Building a stronger Cobequid Region
Opportunities, events, and tools to connect, learn, and support our community.
Community Soup Program
Our soup program brings people together to cook, share, and support the community. Volunteers and participants help create nutritious soups for local freezers, building skills, connections, and a stronger, more food-secure Cobequid — one ladle at a time.
Soup Socials
Hands-on, community-focused cooking sessions where participants chop, stir, and simmer soups for local freezers — connecting people, skills, and good food.
Pop-Up Market
Our monthly Pop-Up Market, held the last Wednesday of each month at Knox United Church from 3:30–5:30, offers fresh fruits and vegetables, Stone Hearth Bakery bread, and dried goods. In partnership with the Mobile Food Market, we provide low-cost, dignified access to quality produce in a fun, welcoming space. Cash, debit, and credit accepted.
Give a little, get a ladle
The Cobequid Food Security Network often partners with the Pink Piano Cafe & Lounge in Lower Sackville. Stop by to learn how to cook up some tasty treats, which you’ll get to take home with you! Entry fee is a donation to Beacon House. Keep an eye on our Facebook for the next date!
